The bizarre incident occurred at a shop in Shoprix Mall the city of Ghaziabad in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and was recorded by the shop’s CCTV cameras.
Local media report Indian actor Ansh Arora, 28, had ordered a hot dog in the shop when he was told he would have to wit for more than an hour for it to be made.
Arora says he asked the staff to cancel his order but claims they then began acting rudely to him.
In the video, Arora, in a grey t-shirt, can be seen being held back by his brother before he begins punching at the shop’s computer monitors and ripping them from their stands. He continues slapping the monitors and breaking them as his brother tries to calm him down.
The actor, who has starred in several series including the popular ‘Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki’ which went off air last year, says he went back to the shop the next day to apologise for his actions but the workers then reportedly called the police.
Arora was arrested along with his brother Mridul and he claims they were beaten by the cops with a leather bat.
He was released the following day after paying bail and says he was then taken to the Max Hospital because he felt “uneasy”.
He posted a topless selfie from a hospital room onto social media and has reportedly written to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the commission of human rights to report the alleged brutality. In his letter, the actor claims his brother was so badly beaten he was struggling to walk when he was taken back to his cell.
Local superintendent Shlok Kumar said he would personally investigate the case and Arora’s claims of police brutality.
