Worried about the frequent injuries including bruising which she refused to discuss, he had installed the cameras at the house in an area of Surajpur, in the city of Noida, which is in Northern India’s Uttar Pradesh State.
They then showed how the man, identified only by his first name Ramchandra, aged 57, violently attacked his wife, resulting in the son giving the evidence to police and filing a complaint for domestic abuse.
The first video clip shows the husband sitting on the sofa in the front room getting ready for one of his black magic rituals, and flying into a rage when the wife asks him to stop. He leaps across the room and hits and punches her, holding her by the hair as he does so. He then dragged her across a table top before throwing her to the floor and hitting her again.
The man then goes into a different room to get a stick and when he comes back he chases her outside, where a second camera then picks up further abuse as he hits her with the stick while she is clearly seen begging for mercy and in pain.
Once the son only identified by his first name Pawan, aged 23, saw the footage he lodged a complaint at Surajpur Police Station, with a copy of CCTV footage.
Police spokesman Shwethabh Pandey confirmed that they were investigating and that the man had been arrested.
Neighbours have told police the husband was very superstitious and would often use black magic to tackle his daily problems, something his wife was unhappy about and over what she would complain despite the violent reactions.
