This is the moment an escaped bull charges at a man at a political rally knocking him the ground only to hit him again when he stands up as onlookers scream.
The startling incident occurred during the joint rally for the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal party (RLD) held at the DN Inter College in the Tirwa area of the city of Kannauj in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
In the video, the bull can be seen standing with its back to a wall separating it from hundreds of onlookers.
Two men in high-visibility jackets run onto the clearing and the bull then charges at one of them.
The huge animal appears to leap into the man and flattens him as an onlookers scream.
The bull then rounds and charges at the man again as he gets to his feet, crashing into him with its horns.
The bull then jogs away as officials move onlookers away to safety. Emergency service vehicles are then sued to try and herd the bull away from the crowds.
Local media report the bull also attacked a policeman during its 15-minute rampage before it ran away from the scene.
SP leader Akhilesh Yadav later praised the young man who was injured in the video, saying “I know he has suffered injuries but the way he fought with the bull was commendable.”
The police officer who was hurt, who has not been named, said he had suffered “injuries to his legs”.
It is unclear how badly the man in the video, reportedly a local construction worker, was injured in the incident.
