The incident took place in the city of Kolar in the south-western Indian state of Karnataka when the pregnant woman, identified as Sameena, went into labour on 27th May.

The mum-to-be was rushed to the nearby government hospital by her husband Riyaz.

According to reports, the woman was left unattended in a corridor for nearly four hours after arriving at the hospital.

In the video footage, Sameena is seen sitting on the floor in the corridor with a female companion and cameraman, believed to be her partner.

Resting against the wall, the pregnant woman appears in pain as she constantly shifts her frame and sobs.

According to local media, Sameena was transferred to the R L Jalappa Hospital & Research Centre and rushed into the delivery room where she gave birth to a stillborn baby.

Reports said that Sameena’s parents have conveyed their sadness over the incident to the government, although it is unclear if they have launched legal action as well.

It is also unclear if the local authorities are looking into possible claims of negligence on the part of the hospital where Sameena was allegedly left unattended for so long.
